My current approach or philosophy to therapy embraces the concept that the client is
the expert on their own life. I view the human experience as being for the most part
subjective. We may share certain ideas or concepts, but when it comes to individual life experiences, each person is different. As I understand it, we are all born into
circumstances unique to ourselves. Whereas there may be some broad generalities influencing individual experience, which give us common ground, there are too many
factors making up individuals for one to assume expertise over their lives. Therefore; it is my humble opinion that the client is the best source of information on their lives and that the therapist is someone who has collected many tools to help the client.
I draw my tools from many different therapeutic approaches, which include Bowen, narrative, CBT, solutions focused, EFT, and existential models. My interests are not limited to these modalities: I have adapted the concept of “whatever works is right.” The cornerstone of this principle is to use the technique that works best for the situation. Other core principles I embrace are constant adaptation, growth, and Learning. I believe therapy and life should be approached with an attitude of benevolent curiosity and goodwill. To foster the spirit of goodwill and benevolence, I believe it is essential and nonnegotiable to embrace all cultures and lifestyles, providing for them a safe environment to heal and grow.
One of my primary interests and concerns is that of free will. It is my own personal belief that addiction, trauma, and other mental health issues either subvert or inhibit our free will as well as our own personal development into an authentic individual. Additionally, I believe that by removing the obstacles impeding free will and self-governance, we are able to move with intentionality towards personal authenticity. Arguably my second biggest interest is motivation. My observation is that many individuals have the need for external motivational factors such as losing their job to push them into action. It is my opinion that one of the purposes of therapy is to help flip a switch within the individual from external motivations to internal motivations.
I am in-network with many commercial insurance carriers. I can also provide a superbill for my out of network clients to help with reimbursement. Please reach out with any questions, we are happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.
Life can sometimes become overwhelming, and even the healthiest coping strategies may no longer feel effective. A mental health crisis can occur when emotional distress, traumatic events, or ongoing mental health challenges make it difficult to cope with everyday life. During these times, you may feel overwhelmed, helpless, anxious, or as though you have lost control.
As an outpatient mental health provider, I offer crisis intervention services to help individuals navigate difficult situations, stabilize emotional distress, and develop healthy coping strategies. Together, we will identify immediate concerns, build resilience, and develop practical skills to manage future challenges while supporting your long-term emotional well-being.

Morgan Health Centers offers a variety of mental health services designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. We recognize that every person’s experiences, challenges, and goals are different, which is why treatment is personalized and tailored to your specific needs. Whether you are seeking support for a specific mental health concern, navigating a life transition, or working toward personal growth and emotional wellness, we are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
Morgan Health Centers offers a variety of mental health services designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. Depending on your treatment plan and clinical needs, services may be provided in one or more of the following formats:
Individual Therapy & Counseling
Individual therapy, also known as psychotherapy or talk therapy, is a confidential, one-on-one session between you and a licensed mental health professional. In a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment, you can explore personal concerns, develop healthy coping strategies, improve emotional well-being, and work toward meaningful personal goals.
Family Counseling
Family counseling recognizes that family members often play an essential role in the healing and recovery process. When appropriate, involving family in treatment can strengthen communication, improve understanding, and create a more supportive home environment.
These sessions help family members better understand what their loved one is experiencing, how mental health conditions can affect the entire family, and what they can do to provide meaningful support while maintaining their own emotional well-being. Family counseling may also focus on resolving conflicts, improving communication, developing healthy boundaries, and strengthening relationships so families can work together more effectively throughout the treatment process.
Marital & Couples Counseling
Couples counseling helps spouses and partners strengthen their relationship by improving communication, resolving conflicts, rebuilding trust, and navigating life transitions together. Therapy may also help partners better understand the impact of a mental health condition and develop effective ways to support one another.
Premarital Counseling
Premarital counseling helps couples prepare for a healthy, lasting marriage. Sessions focus on strengthening communication, discussing expectations, addressing potential areas of conflict, developing problem-solving skills, and establishing shared goals before marriage.
Relationship Counseling
Relationship counseling is designed to improve communication and resolve interpersonal challenges between two or more individuals. Services may include counseling for married couples, partners, family members, parents and children, siblings, in-laws, friends, coworkers, or others seeking healthier relationships.
Clinical Social Work
Clinical social work services provide counseling, care coordination, advocacy, and support for individuals facing mental health, emotional, behavioral, or substance use concerns. Services may assist individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, addiction, eating disorders, life transitions, and other challenges while helping connect patients with appropriate community resources and support systems.
Telehealth
Telehealth, also known as teletherapy or virtual counseling, allows patients to receive mental health services remotely through secure video conferencing technology. Telehealth offers a convenient and confidential option for many individuals while maintaining the same quality of care as in-person sessions when clinically appropriate.
Mental health needs change throughout every stage of life. Major life transitions, relationships, school, work, family responsibilities, aging, and unexpected challenges can all affect emotional well-being. Maintaining healthy habits, such as eating a balanced diet, staying physically active, getting adequate sleep, managing stress, and building healthy relationships, can help support positive mental health and overall wellness.
When mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, or other emotional and behavioral challenges begin to interfere with daily life, obtaining an accurate diagnosis and receiving age-appropriate, individualized treatment are essential. I provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health services tailored to each person’s unique needs, helping individuals develop healthy coping skills, build resilience, and improve their quality of life.
I offer mental health services for:
Mental health challenges exist on a broad spectrum, ranging from the everyday stressors and life transitions we all experience to more serious emotional distress, mental health crises, and long-term mental health conditions. A mental health crisis occurs when life’s challenges become overwhelming and a person’s usual coping strategies are no longer effective. During these times, individuals may feel helpless, distressed, anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, or as though they are losing control of their lives.
I am trained to help individuals navigate these difficult situations by providing compassionate, evidence-based support in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Together, we can identify the underlying concerns, develop healthy coping skills, build resilience, and create practical strategies to manage current challenges and promote long-term emotional well-being.
Some of the client concerns, mental health challenges, and conditions I commonly treat include:
Psychotherapy, also referred to as talk therapy, psycho-social therapy, counseling, or, simply, therapy, is the primary method for treating mental health problems by talking with a mental health provider. The goal is to help an individual better understand their mental health and teach strategies and tools that manage unhealthy thoughts and behaviors.
While there are many approaches to psychotherapy, there is no single approach that works for everyone. A therapist may use a blended approach, sampling techniques from several diverse types of psychotherapy. The kind of psychotherapy a person receives depends on their unique needs.
The following are some of the evidence-based psychotherapy approaches I use to help individuals address mental health concerns, develop healthy coping skills, and achieve their treatment goals. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your unique needs and may incorporate one or more of these therapeutic approaches.
Community can be defined in many ways, but when simplified down to its most important element, community is all about connection. Community is not just an entity or a group of people, it’s a feeling. It’s feeling connected to others, feeling accepted for who you are and feeling supported.
We’re social beings, and we are not meant to live in isolation. Community is critical for us to thrive, especially for someone with mental illness who is already experiencing the common symptoms of loneliness and isolation. Below are some of the communities I work with to help provide a sense of belonging, support, and purpose.
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that brings together individuals facing similar challenges in a safe, supportive, and confidential setting. Led by a licensed mental health professional, group sessions help participants develop healthy coping skills, gain new perspectives, and realize they are not alone in their experiences.
By sharing experiences, offering encouragement, and learning from one another, group members can build confidence, foster meaningful connections, and support each other throughout the healing process.
Below are the therapy groups I offer:
