Licensed Master Social Worker

My Approach to Helping

As a Licensed Master Social Worker, I believe that it is vitally important to provide individuals with a safe place to promote healthy recovery, growth, and personal development. I find it also critical to promote an environment which encourages the sharing of concerns, feelings, and all other issues which may be impacting one’s life. Through a collaborative process, I partner with my clients in order to assist in exploring and processing present day challenges or unresolved conflicts or trauma.

My professional orientation has been based on the Cognitive Behavioral model however, I believe that there is not a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. With over 20 years’ experience providing behavioral management and mental health services, I utilize an array of integrative therapy techniques in order to meet the individualized treatment needs of each person.  I work with a various populations and age ranges, which include adults, couples, and adolescents and have extensive experience working with mood and performance related issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, relationship issues, grief or loss, personal growth/improvement, developmental/transitional concerns, military family transitions, and addiction and substance related issues.

Through my educational pursuits and my personal life experiences, I have gained a deep understanding of the challenges that life events can unexpectedly throw at us. These circumstances can throw us off balance in a way that disrupts our lives. The decision to seek counseling can be a very sensitive one that usually occurs at a delicate time. Choosing the “right” therapist for yourself, your significant other, or anyone important in your life, involves the willingness to invest and commit to the process. I will continue to assist those in need by utilizing strength-based and person-centered approaches, remaining non-judgmental and genuine in warm and always welcomed setting.

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step.”

Therapy Modes

Modes and types of mental health care are as varied as the individuals who seek therapeutic support. While there are some therapeutic models that are more popular than others, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to mental health care. Nuances in the types and modes of therapy will support different people in different ways.

Depending on the situation in which an individual or group of individuals are seeking therapeutic support, there are several different modes of therapy that Lisa utilizes.

  • Individuals
  • Marriage & Couples Counseling
  • Relationship Counseling
  • Premarital
  • Telehealth

Therapy Approaches
